Two Shot Outside Escambia Apartment Complex

October 10, 2011

Two Escambia County men shot early Monday morning outside the gate of an apartment complex.

Kardale Devon Archie, 19, of the 7000 block of Bruner St., and Jacob Harrison Hardaway, 17, of the 6600 block of Hampton Rd. were both shot in the leg at around 5:10 a.m. today at Oakwood Terrace Apartments at 700 Truman Avenue.

Both victims told deputies that an unknown black male began shooting at them as they walked out of the apartment complex grounds.

“This investigation is ongoing,” said sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Chris Welborn. “Our deputies are working on a promising lead, and we hope to have the suspect in custody as soon as possible.”

Archie and Hardaway were transported to local hospitals by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who may have information on the case is asked to contact the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

@ Ryan; If you knew the child and how disrespectful he truly was and nothing could stop him, then you would not be comparing this child to yours.
This child was off the hook. Furthermore he probably slipped out of the house. Leaving the window wide open with total disregard to the people sleeping when he left. I have no sympathy for him. Toooo disrespectful

BIG BOPPER…..I couldn’t agree with you more. The two (black) males that were shot coming out of the apartment complex knows what was happening and why.

You got it, both these kids know who shot them and why. They are both
old enough to get the message, and so are we.

Money not paid for WHAT was that?
    Oops

Sure there is more to this. Probably like the home depot alleged robbery. The victims and the shooter probably know each other. Doesn’t sound random. The shooter probably knew when the victims left the apartment every day. Can’t imagine just walking up and shooting two people in the same area of the body for no reason.

I promise you that my child will not be hanging out at Oakwood Terrace, aka Truman Arms, at 5 in the morning whether he is 19 or 17.
