Two People Seriously Injured In Highway 29 Crash (With Photo Gallery)
October 29, 2011
Two people were critically injured in a two vehicle accident Friday night on Highway 29 in Bluff Springs.
According to the Florida High Patrol, 42-year old Terrie Brown of Pensacola was southbound on Highway 29 south of Bluff Springs Road when she ran off the roadway onto the grassy shoulder. She over corrected, and her vehicle began to rotate. Her 1998 Mercedes SUV crossed the median and collided with a southbound 2008 Toyota Tundra driven by 56-year old Woodie Glaze of Pensacola.
Brown’s SUV came to rest on its roof in the southbound lanes of Highway 29 following the 6:39 p.m. crash. Glaze’s pickup came to rest on the shoulder of the road.
Glaze was trapped in his pickup for over half an hour as firefighters worked to extricate him using the Jaws of Life. He was airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He was listed in serious condition early Saturday.
Brown, who was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from her vehicle during the crash, was airlifted by a second LifeFlight helicopter to Baptist Hospital where she was listed in serious condition early Saturday morning.
Charges against Brown are pending, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Century, McDavid and Molino stations of Escambia Fire Rescue, the Flomaton Fire Department, Escambia County EMS, Atmore Ambulance and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.

Despite nearly loosing his arm, Lee remains in good spirits, ready to get on to the next task at hand. So thankful that side air bags protected him from head injury and that God provided just the right folks at the scene and at the hospital to care for him. Miraculously he is able to move his fingers on the arm that was pretty much severed. Please continue to pray for him as he endures the physical therapy. Pray for no infection and complete healing.
Twenty five years ago me and my neice Toshia had a bad wreck there. If it wasnt for David Arrington nobody would of found us. We went intothe woods.
I am glad that excessive speeds were not involved in this crash, from the looks of the vehicles, they would have been obliterated, had impact velocities been higher.
What a tragity!!
Thankfully there were no others involved.
One thing, which way were the vehicles going????
that part of the road has always been something rong.the curve need’s to be a straight road. need’s maybe more lighting in that part of the hwy.something need’s to be done for the safety of people.that drive’s throw that part of hwy just be safe.and slow down hope everyone doing fine .we are praying for you and your love ones.
.
molino jim, on behalf of all of us in ems, THANK YOU. We are usually forgotten and rarely thanked. We see sooo much, give so much and for so little pay. That thank you means a lot to us. )
What a mess! I’ve gotten to the point where I only do the speed limit on Hwy 29 if I am alone on the road. There is nothing so important that we have to travel so fast. I feel bad for both families. One thing, the automakers sure are doing their job building vehicles to keep us safe, WOW!
If anyone really wants to thank EMS — the next time you see a crew having a cup of coffee or what ever— pay for it. Number two—if you want to send a check to the local vol. fire dept’s. they can always use them. One other thing–please wear seat belts.
Its a good feeling to know our first responders are trained and ready. Prayers for the injured.
We THANK ALL OF THE EMS AND FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL.
Folks…not saying anyone we speeding….. BUT, PLEASE slow down and wear your seat belts.
Praying for both drivers.
WEAR SEATBELTS __ THEY SAVE LIVES __ IT’S THE LAW

I was the ems unit that worked on the patient in the red truck, and I wanted to thank all of the fire guys that helped us because of you having the knowledge and the training you helped us keep the patient alive. My last report was he was doing great and in surgery. Again thank you and I will stand beside on any scene.
Praying for both the occupants!
From the time i was 14 i have seen so many Bad Wrecks on Hwy 29. Used to pick them up with Pops Wrecker. But the wrecks are surely not as frequent as they were before it was 4 Laned
