Tire Fire Creates Large Smoke Plume
October 16, 2011
A large plume of smoke could be seen across part of North Escambia Sunday afternoon from a fire near Enon. A large pile of tires was found to be burning in the 10000 block of Highway 97A near South Highway 99. The Walnut Hill and Molino stations of Escambia Fire Rescue, along with the Florida Division of Forestry and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the fire.

when the state starts paying a dollar or two for tires,,, then the tires will exit creeks ,streams , and properties.
yeah wheres code at,,, they need to fly over, and carry every available resource up there ,,, and is there a creek ,stream nearby? , they can also get marine patrol .
Where’s code enforcement when you really need ‘em? This is a prime example of improper or illegal storage and it should be addressed, but that’ll probably never happen. Besides, code enforcement is in Century doing a dog and pony show and isn’t availible to do real work.
We saw this and wondered what was going on. Thanks William for keeping us informed!
I thought it was illegal to burn tires anymore…
