Jay Wins Homecoming Game Over South Walton 33-28

October 1, 2011

It was a happy homecoming for the Jay Royals Friday night as they beat South Walton 33-28 at Merle-North Stadium.

Royals sophomore running back Ricky Cofield had 192 yards and three TD on a career-record 31 carries. Cofield is about 50 yards shy of 1,000 on the season. Jay quarter back Tate Upton was 8 of 13 for 138 yards passing with a couple of touchdowns.

The Royals will host the Northview Chiefs next Friday night in the first District 1-1A game of the season for either team.

Why isn’t royal fan2 complaining about South Walton too? That school has over 600 students, so are you saying student body numbers only matter when your team looses?

It’s ok we play our heart out and do a good job.Northview is on there page compaining about playing with what they have to play with and playing against a ”GIANT” school like GB well we feel the same way when we play yall.Twice the number of kids to choose from then Jay.Sure we will probaly lose next week but thats ok we will be there playing to the end with our hearts in it.Great job Coach Kent and all other coaches.Great Job Royals.

I wondered which team would win since both could only muster a single win between them after four weeks of the season. Jay is now 2-3 and can boast that it has just about as good of a record as Northview which is at .500.
