Smoother Parking At Byrneville Community Center

September 15, 2011

Parking will be much smoother in the future at one local community center.  Wednesday, crews began paving the parking lot at the  Byrneville Community Center at Byrneville Road and West Highway 4. The county owned facility previously had a loose gravel parking lot.  NorthEscambia.com photo, click to enlarge.

It’s a slow process to get needed projects done…we have to turn in the request and hope it gets in the county budget…having worked with the center over the years I am not without the knowledge of how quickly request can be done in an election year but I can say this parking lot and paint to the inside of the center was much needed…If you take the time to enjoy the center and it’s grounds you will see the improvements that has been made over the last couple years…those improvements didn’t just happen…our Agent was on the phone or camping on doorsteps … Escambia county Commissioners, Byrneville Community Center says thank you for making these improvements happen….and to our agent….thank you for not taking no for an answer…well no time to rest…we really need a new flag and flagpole. Ivan took ours down. We have made requests for it but it was not in the budget…please get us in the budget, we would love to see our flag standing tall.

There really wasn’t anything wrong with the parking lot to begin with, couldn’t they of used the money for something else? Just saying.
