Search Suspended For Former Jay Resident Missing in Gulf
September 1, 2011
The Coast Guard has called off their search for a former Jay resident missing since last weekend in the Gulf of Mexico.
About 8:30 Sunday morning, family reported 41-year old Lee Kent, now a resident of Gulf Breeze, missing after he did not return from a fishing trip south of Pensacola Pass aboard a 37-foot boat named Monkey Bar II.
The Coast Guard said they found no signs of Kent or his boat after searching an area larger than Maryland since Sunday.

Still praying and asking everyone else to also…. that is all we can do! Pray for him and his family/friends/loved ones!
So sad to hear of this. I knew Lee several years ago. He was a fine young man and I hope he is alive and well. My best to his family.
I am so so very sorry for the relatives of this man. What a misery and
a mystery with no closure.
It is so hard to believe they found nothing. Surely there were floats or
something on this boat, It would seem to me there would have been
some kind of signs of something.
