DUI Conviction For Man That Drove Into Two Houses

September 15, 2011

A Cantonment man that drove into two houses last year has been convicted of DUI.

Aaron Lee Deyton, now 22, was found guilty of driving under the influence by Judge Thomas Dannheisser in connection with an incident in Cantonment just after 1 a.m. on November 20, 2010.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Deyton was westbound on Muscogee Road when he left the roadway and struck a culvert west of Rittenberry Road. He then crossed over both lanes of Muscogee Road and left the roadway a second time. His 2004 Ford pickup then struck another culvert and traveled into a yard at 1119 Muscogee Road where it struck a fence, small tree, a house and a parked SUV. He continued through another fence in the yard at 1121 Muscogee Road before striking that house and coming to a final rest.

Deyton was sentenced to 12 months probation, 50 hours of community service, DUI school and his driver’s license was suspended for 12 months. He was also assessed $1,100 in court costs.

I KNEW THIS WOULD BE THE OUTCOME!!! They keep telling us that they are “cracking down” on drunk drivers….yeah they might be catching more..BUT..w/personal experience..1st DUI…1 yr probation/fines/counseling/lose license for 1 yr..2nd DUI..1 yr “community control”/fines/counseling/lose license for 5 yrs…3rd DUI…1 yr probation/fines/counseling/lose license for 10 yrs..yes you can apply for a hardship license & yeah you usely have to have a breathealizer attached to the car you would be driving..I just signed a paper saying a I didnt own a car..which i didnt..Now before all the lecturing..I havent drank or driven in 6 yrs & have 4 more to go…..He didnt kill any1 which would have put him behind bars..plus his prior record…which I had none…I hope he learns his lesson…lot of young people dont!!!

What? no breathalizer monitor for his car?Just how drunk was he and how fast was he going?Come on Judge Dannhessier ,where was your brain during this case> on vacation? He will drive for the next twelve months with a hardship license and my bet he will continue to drink. Why not order him to AA for the year where maybe he would have a chance to break his addiction

So why didn’t they toss him in jail for a couple of nights to make the point that this is unacceptable?
