Lake Stone Pavilion Will Get A/C

September 22, 2011

The pavilion at Lake Stone will soon be a much “cooler” place for events; air conditioning will be added to the pavilion in the next few weeks..

The pavilion is located at the Lake Stone Campground, a 100-acre campground and boat ramp facility on Highway 4 west of Century. The campground has 77 campsites available for rent on the shores of the freshwater lake.

The Lake Stone  pavilion or campsites can be reserved by calling  the Lake Stone campground manager at (850) 256-5555 or Escambia County Parks and Recreation at (850) 475-5220.

Wonderful! We have used the pavillon for family reunions, but stopped because of the heat. We will be sure to consider after the AC is installed!

I hope they take care securing it with all these copper thieves at the moment.

By the way, with all that space, why can’t you swim there? Just curious.

Sending my congrats out to Lake Stone and their host. I know what this means. I used to run Lake Stone and I can tell you, that is a wonderful place to stay. The pavilion with this a/c unit is going to be a blessing to a lot of people. The pavilion is used for weddings, receptions, reunions, family get-to-gether, birthdays, the list goes on. And as in a previous post, Gene and Victor do an awesome job taking care of the buildings. I urge everyone to go and visit Lake Stone at least once. It is a great place to take your family also.

Hello Century resident, it is disturbing to hear of so much county property being stolen. I hope they stay away from Lake Stone. Moreover I am of the opinion that an extra 6 months of hard labor be added for crimes against county property.

Gene & Victor, county employees, do a great job of taking care of the county buildings in the north end. It is not because it may be an election year. Add-ons like this must be included in the budget. Most buildings have a budget. We have had many air conditioning units stolen from county buildings in the last 4-6 weeks that people may not be aware of. These units must be replaced at the county’s (taxpayer’s) expense.
So, feel lucky when a new installation takes place.

I have fished there, is the playground and pier open to the public , or just the boat launch and peninsula’s ?

be thankful for election years. they force notice of our existence.

But aren’t we half way between election years? Maybe the concept of democracy forces them to remember us all the time.

David who’s been to many a family reunion there

It sure is an election year, things are being done all over the Northend of the County. Wonder who thinks he is gonna get our vote?
