Escambia Man Gets Life For Tom Thumb Robbery
September 1, 2011
A Tom Thumb robbery is sending an Escambia County man to prison for life.
Marcus Tyrone Broadnax was sentenced by Judge Paul Rasmussen to life in prison as a prison releasee reoffender for robbery armed with a firearm wearing a mask, and five years concurrent for aggravated assault with a firearm.
On June 26, 2010, Broadnax and his codefendant, both wearing masks, entered a W Street Tom Thumb. Broadnax was armed with a firearm and held one of the clerks at gunpoint, demanding money and tobacco products, according to State Attorney Bill Eddins. Both defendants fled the scene and were shortly thereafter apprehended by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

My point was his life is a wasted life. Those of us who work and play by the rules of life have to pay taxes to feed and house this waste of a person.
No bling for you Marcus.

Kathy you are absolutely right. As medical science unlocks the secrets of the brain, hopefully in the near future treatement and procedures can be perfected that will help these individuals, lead a productive, nonviolent life, until then I recomend turning off the MTV and opening a bible.
@Kathy
Honey would you just want this re-offender SAVED if he came at YOU
with a mask on his face and stuck a gun in yours and you thought
you were going to die over a little money in the till?
I will agree with you that LIFE is the wrong sentence for this guy,
but you wouldn’t like what I would do with him.
Sin, is happening and the only people Christians are out to save are other Christians. The society is all to happy to convict and send away anyone who doesn’t fit. No one thinks to commit to prison ministry or how to prevent these 1st time offenders. Just send them away we will pay the tax bill to support them for life and complain about the tax bills all the while.
Let’s see — Committed a crime, went to jail. Served his time and was released again to public life. Committed another crime, sentenced to life. If the courts did this more often we wouldn’t have repeat offenders who only feared a year or two in jail at most, probation at the least. If you can’t function in public society then you should be sent away!!
This guy is only 22 years old and will spend his whats left of his life in prison. What is happening in this world of ours?
