U.S. Marshals Bust Atmore Murder Suspect In Pensacola

August 30, 2011

U.S. Marshals arrested a man wanted in an Atmore murder early this morning in Pensacola.

Antonio Alberto Crenshaw, age 29 of Pensacola , was apprehended at about 1:30 this morning by the U.S. Marshal Task Forces along with task force officers from Mobile and Pensacola at a room at the Red Roof Inn located in the 7300 Block of Plantation Road near University Mall.

Atmore Police responded to 195 Maxwell Street just before 1 a.m. last Thursday where they found 23-year old Christopher Payne Andrews not far from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene as the result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Crenshaw was developed as a suspect, and Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force received word late Monday night that he might be in the Pensacola area. That Gulf Coast task force, along with the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in Pensacola, were able to confirm that Crenshaw was in fact staying at the hotel.

Crenshaw, aka “Ton-Ton” was arrested without incident and charged as a fugitive from justice will be held on those charges. Eventually Crenshaw will be extradited back to Escambia County, Ala., where he will face the homicide charge.

I am glad this man was apprehended, it is tragic what he has done to Mr Andrews and his family, it is tragic what he has done to himself. I do not know the facts of this homicide, but I will advise civil matters are not worth killing over, take it to small claims court. If you are trafficing drugs get out, stay out. There is always a better path to follow, weight the consequences.

@cameron dude how u knio he’s innocent?? he has been charged so he is founded guilty of the murder that was committed to an innocent person?? it amazes me how the family members of the suspects can write on here (ive seen it several times) saying their members r innocent blah..blah….if they have been charged for that crime then hello THEY R GUILTY!! and he is the that cast that first stone and has 2 live with what he has done

Actually, you are WRONG. He is charged with the crime. That means that he has been accused of committing the crime. He still has the right to a fair and impartial trial. Our judicial system is established under the pretense of , “innocent until proven guilty”. It is the Prosecutor’s job (they work for the state) to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did, in fact, commit the crime for which he has been accused.

My heart goes out to both families, especially the victim mom, she has really been thru a lot lately and my heart bleeds for her. I remember Atmore was so peaceful at one time and now all of that has changed. We used to fight and make up, no ppl are killing each other, very senseless murder….What did this resolve, not nothing another black man will be buried and another one behind bars. Crazy! Again God said vengeance is mine and he will pay every man according to their works…. Get Ready for reapin time. God Bless
