I am disabled with several medical conditions including a brain tumor. My daughter is Autistic. So if I am not able to work y’all think she does not deserve to eat? I only get $16 a month in food stamps. My cell is provided by the state through assurance wireless. Cable is provided by the mobile home community I live in. Internet is provided by my wheel chair bound mother who had a heart attack 2 months ago. So neither of us are able to work due to medical problems and that makes us lazy and my child undeserving of free lunch or breakfast? I had to buy her school uniforms out of my grocery money at loaves and fishes. I have a metal plate and screws in my head from brain surgery that only removed part of the tumor. I don’t have anyone to help me at all. I have to take care of a controlling old abusive woman in a wheel chair and a special needs child who freaks out when the wind blews. Don’t lump everyone together who gets free lunch when you don’t know who or what you are talking about. Atleast I don’t use a man to take care of me. I take care of the three of us by myself. Take your snooty attitude to a shelter and see what is real before you point fingers.

    REGARDING:
“Got to go now. To work, so “so and so” can walk to her mailbox and get her EBT card,”

Makes you proud to know you can carry your own weight as well as the weight of others, doesn’t it?

Yes, Southerner’s wife, this particular WIC user also has cell phone, with all the bells and whistles, cable, acrylic nails and always has cigarette and Mountain Dew money. Also uses a false Fl address to get her benefits, she lives in Al.

Davis I understand the child shouldn’t have to go hungry because of the sins of the parents but isn’t there some way to crack down on the fraud?

Got to go now. To work, so “so and so” can walk to her mailbox and get her EBT card,

Those who use WIC probably also use cell phones, internet and cable!!!!!

    Check it out!!!

    REGARDING:
“I have a in-law that brags about her WIC ”

There’s always somebody bragging about how he or she “beat the system.”

The idea behind WIC, women, infants and children, is that the children shouldn’t suffer for the sins of the sorry parents who would not otherwise give them enough food to grow into healthy adults.

Drug test will weed out a lot of the freeloaders on commodities and food stamps. The people on unemployment as well.

I have a in-law that brags about her WIC and food stamps saying how well they eat. Lazy as they come. Ironically she is Republican and a teapartier too.

Most of the families that mooch off the government are not poor, just lazy!! People say,”I pay my taxes. I earned it.” When everybody says that, the government goes into default,(debt). There are over 52% of the population is dependent on the government now. The other 48% are paying and struggling to make it.
When I had my children, I did not use WIC. I fit in the income bracket too, but I refused. God can supply my needs. It seems now that it is the normal thing now for all mothers to get on WIC. Something has got to change..This system teaches one to be lazy, not work. Don’t work, don’t eat!!

Hello Southerner. A lot less than the foreign aid, this nation throws to the wind everyyear. You forgot sausage and the biscuts.

  10. Southerner on August 17th, 2011 10:26 pm

How much do grits and eggs cost?

  11. 429SCJ on August 17th, 2011 7:00 am

No southerner there is no free lunch, but nothing is worse than a hungry child. I would like to feed them breakfast as well . Some of these kids live impoverished lives, through no fault of thier own. It is difficult to learn on an empty stomach. I would hate to cut aid to some friend like Iraq or Israel, but to feed our own, so be it.

Socialism. There is no “free lunch”. Someone pays.

    >>I can’t get the link to work. I have, both, clicked on the link provided and copy and pasted. Now what?

I just verified that the link is correct, and it’s the same link on the front of the school district site. It works for me.

That said, I’ve had a fair number of complaints this morning. I’m thinking there is either an intermittent problem with the school district site, or it does not work in some browsers.
