Does anyone know the total square footage and acreage of the mill? A point of contact, phone and/or address for the current owner? I guess the Century Chamber of Commerce is probably as good a place as any to contact.
My brother in law deals machine equipment on the international market, I will give him the low down on this place. He’s in and out of China and ROK comming and going. Word of mouth, never hurts?
With the standard of living and labor cost rising in manufacturing export nations, and the notoriously low labor cost here in Escambia county. I would think international investors would be attracted to this facility, with its floor space and square footage. I would make a virtual tour video of this place and send it out to every foriegn company, I could get an address for.
Two lumber mills go bust in this area in 10 years? I still cannot figure out, how I.P. managed to place their McDavid sawmill in Bogia?
The building pictured was built around 98-2001 and has never been used for anything, after the former owner went bankrupt after construction he had to sell all the equipment and machinery. I grew up across the street and there haven’t been jobs there in ages! Over a thousand people applied for the jobs that were supose to come there but you can see nobody has a single job, just pray that nobody is using their personal info.
I do not know much about the history of this facility, but I know those job are greatly missed. I would imagine that place was looted long ago.
