Sunshine Hill Road Being Resurfaced; Fairground Road To Be Paved Soon

July 5, 2011

One resurfacing project is underway in Molino, and a dirt road paving project is set to begin soon.

A resurfacing project is underway on Sunshine Hill Road in Molino.  A county asphalt crew is overlaying the road due to the deterioration of the original “cold mix” surface.

Escambia County is moving forward with a plan to pave the dirt portion of Fairground Road in Molino. A pre-bid conference for contractors will be held on July 6, and bids on the project will be opened on July 20. Once work begins on the project, the low bidder will have 120 days to complete the job.

csi, I to am a utlitiy work, so I know exactly about getting out in the bad weather. I know several of the county guys and they do a great job, supervison is the main problem on up to the county comish. I get so tired of ” I do what I am told”!! That is the main issue “No One is Telling the guys what to do”! I have gotten tired of calling the road department, I really don’t care if it patched or not. When it becomes a dirt road again I plant a garden on it.

bama54 thank you so much for for rude comment about rthe county riding the roads.you dont know nothing whats going on.they have 2 patch trucks running everyday and there are so many pot holes they cant keep up.the county has no money remember or they say.they have money for what they want.you need to pick on the commissioners and not the workers.the workers do what they are told to do.if money is not there you cant just go buy stuff to work with.when a hurricane comes see who has to leave their families and run to the camp.i bet you get to stay with your family after a storm.so quit picking on the workers and pick on the comissioners.they the ones that control the tax payers money.

Some of you people should take a ride on Hwy 99 south. From Hwy97 to Bay Springs. You cant dodge the pot holes. They put the patch stuff along the sides of the road. Lot of good that does. I will be glad when election time comes. Out with Kevin White. Sent him an email never got an answer.

oh bama54 quit being so negitive.we better be glad any paving is done cause the county is spending 8 million dollars on a sports complex.its more important than paving all these roads.remember the county has no money.all our our taxes we pay and we have no say so of where it goes.

Stout Road had the cold mix when it was paved. The residents of Stout Road were told the cold mix was just the start and the county would come back in about a year to resurface the road. Let me count the years, oops to many to count, but at least 10 years. Let’s get on with the paving and have the county road department do something beside ride the roads. I am sorry, they don’t even ride the roads, Stout road had several pot holes and it taken them a few months to fix them!! I pay taxes, and expect my money worth, which I am not getting.

On Sunshine Hill ..they are doing it in “patches” why didnt they just start @ 1 end & go to the other end..I never know where the repairs are being made. I am soo HAPPY its finally getting done! Now put signs up @ Sunshine Hill Rd & the NEW Sunshine Ridge so the gosh dang 4 wheelers & dirt bike will stop going down that road..it says PRIVATE but I see cars & trucks along w/the 4 wheelers going down it everyday(most are the same ones). I know 1 plot was sold & the owners are starting to clear it out..there will be a wreck @ that corner especially since my driveway is part of the corner..which is on a curve..again no signs..PUT SIGNS up!!
