Operation Blister Pack: Two Sentenced On Dozens Of Drug Charges

July 28, 2011

Two North Escambia residents have been sentenced to probation on dozens of drug charges. Both were arrested during a roundup dubbed “Operation Blister Pack” conducted by federal, state and local law enforcement back in February.

Kellie Lyn Odom, 33, of Duxbury Avenue, Molino, was placed on probation for five years and sentenced to 25 hours of community service by Judge Ronald Swanson on 29 charges of possession of a listed chemical. Prosecutors said she purchased excessive and illegal amounts of pseudoephedrine  at various stores and pharmacies in Pensacola between November 2009 and September 2010.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Odom purchased pseudoephedrine 53 times during the time period, often buying the drug at multiple locations on the same day and exceeding the legal limit for purchases.

Investigators said they believed Odom’s purchases were used by another individual in a methamphetamine lab.

According to court records, Odom is eligible to have her probation terminated after 30 months if she has no probation violations.

Ronnie Orbin Lambeth, 62 of Eden Lane, Cantonment, pleaded no contest to seven charges of possession of a listed chemical and adjudication was withheld. He was placed on probation for five years and sentenced to 100 hours of community service by Judge Terry Terrell following his plea.

Prosecutors said he purchased excessive and illegal amounts of pseudoephedrine  at various stores and pharmacies in Pensacola between August 2009 and October 2010.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Lambeth purchased pseudoephedrine 38 times during the time period, often buying the drug at multiple locations on the same day and exceeding the legal limit for purchases.

I still hope the FEDS just keep right on going,. There are plenty more
    where these people came from.

DRUGS are at the bottom of everything in Molino.

Keep up the good work officers, but as for the judges, I guess we just
need all new ones. None of these sentences are JUSTICE!

    @ gimme a break
Just stating if there was a actual punishment for things done wrong we wouldn’t have the revolving door system an people would think twice before they let their easy money an addictions take priority over life i’n general

Public hanging for drug charges? You cant be serious. If it were legal you would probably hang someone for sneezing in the wrong direction. Holy Cow.

a gentle “pat” on the hand for these two….25 hrs/ 100 hrs community service!….i dont really give a crap if it seems slanted favorably towards the male…i can only imagine how disappointed the DEA officers are, in light of all the work they invested into this operation…i am very skeptical that some token community service and a 5 yr probation sentence will persuade them to change their low-life ways.

  7. come on people really!! on July 28th, 2011 12:39 pm

Come on people. It’s not all about the court room or judges. Alot of diffrent issues are involved in sentencing. Criminal history is one. If you have never been charged with a crime then you get a better deal. If you have then the punishment is harsher. It’s really simple if you are looking and not just trying to complain. Please do research before you make up your mind if the court system is unfair. and try to spread your opinion. Besides if you screw up probation then you get another sentence. This way it’s up to the person to do the right thing.

Believe me, I’m not a big fan of probation, but this is the system we have.

I thought I was reading this wrong….Only thing that is does not show is how Odom pleaded…Lambeth is listed as “No Contest” to 7 charges.

Same System and we now see, within the same article, how differently it truly works based on the court room/judge that you draw..Amazing!!

These kind of sentences encourage crime, but there is nowhere to put people, the jails are full. If you think about it, if you want to rob a bank or or mug someone in a parking lot you may get away with it or if you get caught the sentence is not going to amount to much anyway. Our judicial system urges you to break the law.
