Escambia, Perdido Rivers Approaching Historic Lows
June 22, 2011
With our extreme drought, river levels in North Escambia area are approaching historic lows.
At Century, the Escambia River was at 2.89 feet at 10 p.m. Tuesday; the all-time record low level was 1.30 feet in 1954. The Perdido River at Barrineau Park was at 1.24 feet Tuesday night. Low water records for the Perdido River are not available.
Pictured above and below: The Escambia River is approaching record low levels, with a pier to nowhere and a boat ramp that does not reach the water as seen Tuesday at the Molino Boat Ramp on Fairgrounds Road. NorthEscambia.com photos, click to enlarge.

don’t see any reason not to have tubing down Escambia River too. Our gators gotta eat just like the Perdido gators do.
David for balanced meals
The tubing takes place on Perdido river not on Escambia
I have seen one episode too many of River Monsters to tube the Escambia river. Aventures unlimited is in the phone book, David and Linda Vann, nice people, they will hook you up on a Perdido river trip.
REGARDING:
“Is this a public boat ramp / fishing area?”
William already told you it’s public. As to getting to it:
From US29 in Molino, go East at the Molino Road caution ligh, cross 95A and keep goingt.
Take a right at Jahaza. (If you miss Jahaza, turn right on Brickyard.)
Either way you dead end onto Fairground, hang a left and head toward the CSX Railroad track.
After crossing the track, circle around in the park. to the boat ramp or just to the park.
Stop before you run in the water.
As they always say, “You can’t miss it.”
David for good times
and pretty sights
and pretty sites
I would appreciate it so much if someone could give me directions, and the details of tubing down the river. We currently go to Milton.
Thanks

Yes. It’s an Escambia County park.

Yep, that’s a beautiful boat ramp, and the park’s really nice, too.
Sad about all the catfish getting sunburns.
David appreciating beauty
@perdido how come you tubers leave trash .cans, ect. on every sandbar you stop at. It really makes us locals angry. Please pick up your trash.
Went tubing on perdido last week, almost had to walk the trip.I’ve seen it a tad bit lower but it has been a while.
Amazing how much clearer the Escambia river looks in that picture. It almost looks like Perdido river.
>>I thought I new where every boat ramp on the Escambia river was, can anyone please tell me where thise photos where taken.
I added it to the cutline in the story for you — the Molino Boat Ramp on Fairgrounds Road.
A little info about the area from the county’s website:
Molino Boat Ramp, 6698 Fairgrounds Road, also known as Fairgrounds Park, is a one and one half acre boat ramp and park with a covered pavilion, boat ramp with access to Escambia River, playground, security lighting, and picnic area. A nature trail connects the 70 foot fishing pier scenic overlook along the bank of the Escambia River.

Me and a friend put in at adventures unlimited yesterday morning, had to run the motor in shallow water drive the whole way. The water level was too low to proceed past Turkey Flats.
