Applications Being Accepted For 8th Annual Beaches To Woodlands Tour

Applications are now being accepted for events and organizations that wish to participate in the 8th Annual Beaches to Woodlands Tour of Santa Rosa County.

The deadline to submit an application is July 8. Applications are available for download at www.thebeachestowoodlandstour.com.

The month-long series of events staged each October highlight the diversity of Santa Rosa County which stretches from the sugar white sands of Navarre Beach to historic Milton and the natural wonder of the Blackwater River State Forest.

Last year more than 40 organizations participated in the self-directed tour which is sponsored by the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council.

“Fall is such a wonderful time to get out and about and enjoy the Gulf Coast,” said third-year tour director Karen Harrell. “By October our temperatures have started to cool off and people are ready to be outside and enjoy themselves.”

Past events have included tour staples like the Jay Peanut Festival, Sweet Season Farms Corn Maze, Coastal Encounters at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station, Munson Heritage Festival, Milton Ghost Tours and more. Several running and biking events have also been a big draw. Others include arts shows, historic tours, Zoo Boo, Oktoberfest, moonlight Zip Adventures and more.
