Broxson Vows To Continue Effort To Repeal Septic Tank Inspections
May 11, 2011
Rep. Doug Broxson said Tuesday that he plans to continue to fight to repeal Florida’s new septic tank inspection requirements.
The first bill co-sponsored by Broxson after taking office was a septic tank inspection repeal, which passed the House 110-3. But the Senate never heard the bill, leaving the inspection requirement law on the books beginning July 1. (Read more…)
“I am very disappointed that the Senate refused to join with the House in repealing the septic tank inspections,” Broxson said Tuesday.
But the House did add language to the implementing bill that requires the Department of Health of submit a plan which includes an estimate of agency workload and funding needs for approval by the Legislative Budget Commission. Once the rules are developed, they would have to be ratified by both the House and Senate before being implemented.
“With these provisions in place to protect our citizens, the fight to repeal this burdensome regulation will continue and I will continue to support the repeal of this over-reaching state mandate,” Broxson said.

One senator from Orlando sat on the bill and wouldn’t let it pass to the floor for a up or down vote vote!!!!!! But our man Don saved the day he got something put on another bill to keep the law from being inacted before july 2012……..and he said that he will take of this law in the next year………….
Thank you, Mr. Broxson, for continuing to fight this expensive bill that is not needed. We who have septic tanks ( no other alternative) will take care of them without another law forcing us to comply. The county and the septic tank companies will get the benefit of this bill. PLEASE KILL IT!
Talk is Cheap we heard the same thing before and here we ARE, it’s almost
July 1 and it sounds like there may be some trouble brewing for the
poor soul that come out to the country to inspect. Someone better get a move
on and get this repealed.
That just may be what keeps their job.
Good for you, Mr. Broxson! Don’t give up!
