Local Man Dies In Single Vehicle Cantonment Crash

A 41-year old North Escambia man was killed in a single vehicle accident Thursday night in Cantonment.
Todd Creighton Wilson of Cantonment was pronounced dead at the scene of the 10:11 p.m. wreck near Porky’s Pizza, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Creighton veered northbound on Highway 95A from Highway 29 and lost control of his Ford F250 pickup truck and hit a guide wire for a utility pole before striking numerous trees and overturning into a wooded area.
The Cantonment and Ensley stations of Escambia Fire Rescue, Escambia County EMS and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the accident.

I can’t possibly put into words what it has meant to me, all the comments and prayers and calls. Thank you so much! People that knew Todd and I know what kind of relationship we had. I think from the day I got here, he took over as my guardian, just ask Tracy! When you see me I know you may think of him, we did have the same knot in our nose and big feet(ha,ha), but please feel free to tell me a story of a time that…..it seems to make me smile! Everytime I look at Seth, my heart will hurt but also smile, I am terribly sad, but mom and Rosa are very strong and they will get Seth, Tracy and I and “the boys”. thru, along with the rest of our wonderful family! Todd, I know I will see you again and you will hear about this! Tell pawpaw, he’s got you for now! I will miss our everyday phone calls and new recipe talks and rubbing your head from time to time for my therapy! I will miss that big truck with that big guy drving off to go to work, but I will always have our memories. I love you and I can hear you telling me! Till I see you again, I know you are still watching over me and thanks for being you!!!!
Words can not express the comfort that I have found in the kind and warm words written about Todd. My heart is broken and I feel empty inside but and know Todd is with me and will help Seth and I through this, that’s Todd’s way. I’m asking this of Todd’s friends, please help me keep Todd’s memory alive for Seth by reminded him how much his father loved him and how great a man he was. Please keep his mother,father, sister and brothers in your prayers as they are having a hard time coping with their loss. Grandma “ceil” you now how much Todd loved and respected you. Dear BJ, Ned, Brandy & family – I just got the news last night. I don’t know what to say. I am so sorry for your loss. Todd was a brother that I could always depend on. Nothing was more important to him than family. I have such fond memories of Todd and all of you. I love you all. I wish I lived closer. Damn Todd………………What do I say? How in the heck can we put the trampoline together and you be gone 4 hours later? Had I only have known. You did hug me before you left and said you loved me like a brother and never considered me your brother in law. And the best part is I know you meant it! To me thats pretty dang cool. I do miss ya already Todd and cant imagine holidays and birthdays or our usual family gatherings without you. I have known Todd from 1990. I worked on the same machine as he did. Todd, only a few months senior employee than myself, was willing to help in any way that he could knowing I didn`t know all the ropes yet. I gainged a respect for him. He was a tall, long neat haired young man. I nick named him Big Sexy after the pro wrestler and he would just smile back at me. All the years that I knew Todd, I NEVER heared anyone say a bad word of him. He was special! Todd, you asked me three weeks ago when I was working on the pulp side to come up and see ya! So sorry now that I thought I was too buisy at the time to come and see ya…I see now this was my great loss. Point now for me is to take time out for friends and love ones! We only have the moment!! Rest well me buddy!!

I was deeply sadden to hear the bad news about Todd, this morning. The good memories shared with your family all came flooding into my head. How do you process the loss of such wonderful people in such a short period of time? How do pick up the pieces of what is left of your broken heart and force yourself to move on…
Certainly I don’t have the answers, but I know that GOD will find a way to give you the strength you need to get you through this ordeal. Seth needs you to be strong, and perhaps, he will be used by God to console you during these difficult moments.

i met todd through my brother tim brown ,i always liked to run into him out and about.i last saw him at winn dixie and got to talk to him. he had a lot of charisma an looked like a movie star.i will miss him , my prayers go out to his family.

I remember the days playing little league on the Industrial Marines (boy we were not very good), sleeping over, and hanging out with Todd and everyone. I also worked next to him at IP for a couple of years. I hope God gives you all the comfort, peace, and strength you deserve. Todd will be sorely missed but not forgotten.

I know that it does not matter now, but it was a little before that time that I was traveling north on Hwy 29 around Swannees and I had to swerve at the last minute because a possum was slowly creeping across the road towards the old highway. I am glad there wasn’t another car beside me because I really had to swerve to get around him, it was just reflexes.

When someone is in your life for a reason, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support. To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you them to be.
Some people come into your life for a season, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.
Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solide emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you Todd for being a part of my life………even though it was only for season.
