Local Man Gets Almost A Year In jail For Kidnapping

A Century man has been sentenced to almost a year in jail for kidnapping in connection with a domestic violence incident.

Eric Dean Vickers, 26 of Pine Barren Road, pleaded no contest to the felony charge before Escambia County Circuit Court Judge Jan Shackleford. He was sentenced to 11 months, 15 days in the county jail with credit for 52 days served while awaiting trial. Additional charges of aggravated assault with a knife, battery, aggravated battery, aggravated stalking were dropped against Vickers.

After warrants were issued for his arrest, Vickers was found in July, 2010 in Brewton and arrested by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

    Wow, A man armed with a Knife can stalk you, Kidnap you and assault you and he only gets 11months!! No wonder there’s so much violent abuse these days. The bumbs aren’t worried about punishment, a little slap on the hand and your outahere!! Judge Jan Shackleford you should be fired for such a light sentance!!
