Woman Charged In Connection With Wreck That Killed Two Teens
March 5, 2011
A 38-year old woman was arrested Friday night on a narcotics charge in connection with a traffic crash earlier in the week that claimed the life of two teens on Munson Highway in Santa Rosa County.
Nadja Chandler was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail Friday on a charge of marijuana possession over 20 grams.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Chandler was southbound on Munson Highway near East Gate Road in Santa Rosa County March 1 when she lost control of her 2002 Ford Ranger, ran off the road, struck and culvert and rolled over. The two passengers in the vehicle, 18-year old Zoe M. Chandler and 15-year old Brandi Bartholomew, were pronounced dead at the scene of the 7:55 p.m. crash. Nadja Chandler was transported by LifeFlight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt, according to the FHP.
An ambulance responding to the scene was totaled when the driver lost control in a curve. The Florida Highway Patrol says Clayton Miller, 34, of Milton, lost control on Munson Highway near Womack Road. The 2007 ambulance traveled over two raised driveways before striking a tree. Miller and his passenger, 40-year old Greggory Lawler, received minor injuries and were transported to Pensacola hospitals. Both were treated and released.

REGARDING:
“Isn’t 20 grams a felony?”
Florida Marijuana law, penalties
20 g or less misdemeanor 1 year $1,000
More than 20 g felony 5 years $5,000
“booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail Friday on a charge of marijuana possession over 20 grams.”
Hence, a felony
David answering question asked
I don’t really care what she is going through. She obviously is a druggie
and she killed two kids. I hope they throw the book at her. Isn’t 20 grams
a felony?
Dont forget she also was treated in the hospital. Normally they do check for drugs and alcohol for the ones that were driving especially if there are fatalities involved. They may have found something during that time which is protected and cannot be released to the public.
REALLY, JC, REALLY??? Charge her with manslaughter? Thats crazy, man.
the only reason she would be charged with manslaughter is if they had proof she was using it before driving……………..you can’t really charge her for killing her brain cells with junk like that…………………there maybe more charges yet to come?????
Just because she had marijuana in her possession doesn’t mean she should be charged with murdering the two teenagers.. She lost family members at her own hands none the less.. Before you jump to wanting to charge this woman with manslaughter think about what she’s going through..
REGARDING:
“Where are the charges for the deaths of these kids?”
They might believe they are unwarranted. It could be that carrying narcotics had nothing to do with her losing control. (For that matter, even though legally what she was carrying was a narcotic, technically a narcotic is something which is addictive and puts people to sleep. Of course, I don’t know that it doesn’t make people sleepy so that might apply. I’ve never read any reliable sources saying it’s addictive.)
Not that any of that matters to the question at hand. She was found with an illegal substance and was charged according to the law. People died. That’s regrettable but not always chargeable.
David for reason
MANSLAUGHTER!
Narcotics? Where are the charges for the deaths of these kids?
