New Pier At Lake Stone

March 17, 2011

A new pier has been added at the Lake Stone Campground. It is located next to the boat ramp, on the eastern side of the lake where there is no admission charge. Lake Stone Campground is a 100-acre campground and boat ramp facility located on West Highway 4 just outside Century. NorthEscambia.com photos, click to enlarge.

It has been a long time coming for more than just a pier. I’m very glad to see the pier was build it will be used buy many fishermen and fisherladies. I like to see more done to provided access for bank fishermen. Clean up the north side of the lake. Install new tables and a pavilion . The tables that are there are unsafe. A little play ground would be nice. What draws people to the lake is the fish ( big fish ). We need the state to provide a person to over see the lakes fishery and a care taker for boat ramp side of the lake. Please join me by calling our county commissioner and voice your thoughts on what you like to see happen. I like to hold a meeting and invite kevin white and parks and recreation to our fishing party.

This my fellow Northescambiers is a much long time needed project. For the ones of us with limited mobility..Maybe this will be the answer to getting out past the moss to where the slab shellcrackers hang out.So look out Renfroe ill be able to throw across your line from the left end.Great shots from the Stone lovely anytime but espesially when spring is in the air.Ive got to get my rest so i can get out to this new hotspot I heard about on Northescambia.com.just what we need in a world of doom and waste and despair we get some good news.Until our lines cross again gotta fly.A.W THOMPSON LOWER MOSQUITO FLATS CUTOFF.
