Man That Pleaded Guilty To Child Porn Now Appealing 15-Year Sentence

barrowericsebastian11.jpgA former Atmore resident who pleaded guilty in federal court to child pornography charges is appealing his 15-year prison sentence.

Eric Sebastian Barrow, 38, pleaded guilty in May, 2010, to the production of child pornography and the possession and distribution of child pornography on a computer file sharing network. He was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. He will also be required to register as a sex offender upon release.

Now, attorneys for Barrow have filed a notice of appeal in federal court. A hearing date on that appeal has not been set.

According to federal court documents, Barrow used a web camera to record a pre-teen girl living in the western United States.  The girl, according to court documents, was about 11 or 12 years old at the time. When located by federal investigators, the girl  said she recognized Barrow’s online nickname “bad_red_dragon_2004″.

According to court documents, Barrow, who is unable to walk due to spina bifida, would meet other young girls in Internet chat rooms and direct them to perform for him.

In 2005, a Florida Attorney General’s Office investigator found Barrow sharing child pornography online from his home in Atmore. The Florida investigator turned the case over to the Alabama Bureau of Investigation. The case was later turned over to the FBI.

In February 2006, the FBI raided Barrow’s Atmore home and seized computer equipment. Federal investigators said they found 65 videos of nude pre-teen girls, along with 3,847 images of minors. According to court documents, Barrow would use the “Limewire” file sharing software to download and share child pornography files.

Barrow was also arrested in Escambia County, Fla., on March 26, 2009,  on five counts of possession of child pornography charges. He was eventually sentenced to five years in state prison on those charges.

    good thing here. he was not only viewing child porn, he was manufacturing it. so glad it is his type that is being sent away. not excusing the ones that only view child porn. we see a lot of busts in that area, and great! good job! but these guys seem to be the hard ones to catch. anyway, good job to all that helped get this guy away from our precious children. maybe their mamas and daddies will pay more attention to their kiddos now, spend a lot more time with them now. no computers in bedrooms, to begin with. everyone do business out in the family room, den, etc…bedrooms for sleeping only! reading in a quiet place, ok. everything else, out with the rest of the family. sorry, but that means video games. it gives me the headache, but what can i say?

    IT IS TRUE HE IS GARBAGE. BUT THE SAD PART IS THAT YOUNG (PRE-TEEN) GIRLS WILL STRIP FOR SOME UNKNOWN PERSON ON LINE. WHERE IS THEIR LIFE GOING?

    This guy is a REAL PERVERT!! I agree with Jim W.. When this sorry excuse for a man gets to prison, he will more than likely get what he deserves..

    Oh Bubba is going to love him when he gets to prison. I’m just sure Bubba and a few good friends will have a welcoming crew awaiting his arrival. You reap what you sow pay back is tuff. Sorry no sympathy.

    Not that I know from experience, but you can get women of legal age on web cams. I used to get pop-ups all the time till I figured out how to stop them. Who would really prefer a little girl? That is just sick. And the damage is irreversable.

    Oh, he’ll get rehabilitated alright. He’ll be someone’s girlfriend soon as he goes to prison. He’s already had experioence with that. Get him out of Escambia County Fl. and Al.

    this is why i scan my kids computer and they aren’t allowed to go anywhere. You just cant trust too many people out there these days. I rather be too strict than have my child rape, murdered, kidnapped, etc.

    He pled guilty and expected to get a kiss on the wrist just like they usually
    have been doing.
    NOT NOW BABY BOY, NOW YOU GOT WHAT YOU DESERVED.
    YOU DID IT AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT AND YOU WILL TAKE YOUR MEDICINE
    AND DO 15 YEARS. CREEP!

    I know what he is appealing…the 15 years of performing the acts that he viewed on tape. Labeling him as a child sex offender (preditor) should be done before and during his prision time….so they can get the “PROPER” rehabilitation they deserve.
