Photo Gallery: Northview FFA’s Food For America Program
March 18, 2011
Hundreds of elementary school students from across Escambia County learned a little bit about farm life and the origin of their food during the annual FFA Food For America Day held Friday at Northview High School in Bratt.
The students were able to “shake and make” their own sweet cream butter to enjoy on crackers. They also had the opportunity to pet a variety of barnyard animals, plus learn a little of the science behind agriculture.
The was 16th year the Northview High FFA has sponsored the program, which was named the best in the entire state last year by the Florida FFA organization.

“WEEKENDS SHOULD ALWAYS BE AN EVENT FOR THE CHILDREN.
Not just playing outside in the dirt.”
Yeah but I’d take playing outside in the dirt over sitting inside playing video games every time!
The two little girls are just priceless.
The first one has her little nose all scrunched up like she just smelled something and the second is just focused like all get out on the fact
that someone is taking her picture. TOO CUTE
Did Kristie take that?
Iet would hurt all of us to spend more time with the kids in this town and
take them to the zoo, the flower store, etc. and EXPLAIN SOME THINGS
TO THEM.
WEEKENDS SHOULD ALWAYS BE AN EVENT FOR THE CHILDREN.
Not just playing outside in the dirt. IT SHOULD BE A FAMILY EVENT.
I just love that top pic

I was lucky enough to be part of the original FFA at NHS when this area began having Food For America. I am so glad to see it has grown as large as it is now and so many kids are involved with it!! Keep up the good work Mr. Byars & the entire NHS FFA chapter!!!
Wonderful idea! What a great experience.
