Free 3-Gallon Trees

A tree planting session and giveaway will happen Thursday 3-4 p.m. at the Langley Bell 4-H Center at 4810 West Nine Mile Road.

Three-gallon size trees available in the “Greening Up Escambia County” program will include Florida anise, Cassine holly, Little Gem magnolia, Winged elm, and Nuttal Oak.

Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, March 30 by calling (850) 475-5230 or emailing Beth Bolles at bbolles@ufl.edu. The first 75 people registered will be guaranteed one of the trees listed, according to event organizers.

    3-4 p.m. However, as the story says, pre-registration is required by TODAY.

    The Florida Anise is a nice native shrub, but they DO need shade or they’ll scorch.
