Fire Destroys Escambia Apartments

March 17, 2011

Fire heavily damaged an Escambia County apartment complex Wednesday night, prompting a response from fire stations as far north as Molino.

The fire at the Fulton Avenue Apartments, near Palafox Street and Burgess Road, was reported about 11 p.m. Flames were shooting from the roof of one apartment when the first firefighters arrived on scene. None of the apartment occupants were injured, but preliminary information indicated that one firefighter was transported to a Pensacola hospital with an unknown injury.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Multiple stations of Escambia Fire Rescue responded to the blaze, including Ensley, Cantonment, Beulah, Oceloa, Ferry Pass and Myrtle Grove. Firefighters and truck from the Molino Station were reassigned further south to provide coverage for incidents other than the fire.

Realy? is this what concerns you, departments left off or added to the news article? If I read the piece right seems a mention of “multiple stations of Escambia Fire Rescue responded” Oh lets not forget One of Our Own was sent to the Hospital, Yea and now there are families who lost property and now have the harsh reality of picking up the pieces and getting life back to normal. I know you probably think a lot of bad things by now, but do this Turn The Tables for either the family or the Firefighter, you put on there boots. DO YOU REALY CARE WHO CAME OR IF YOUR DEPARTMENT WAS NOTICED BY THE NEWS? And you may have been in those boots! Point is the ones that care and matter could care less. it’s remarks like you made that makes everyone else lose track of the Big Picture and look at the Fire Service in the wrong way. I was not there but to the responders great job, Keep doing what you do best. Fire Stations sorry to call you out but, think of the rest of us before you decide to say or make comments, I am quite sure Bellview crews gave it there all.

Bellview Fire Department was at this fire as well. There is quite a few fires that NorthEscambia Reports on and they seem to leave out Fire Stations of off the lists of responding units all the time. Great articles and news just need to get all the facts and figures together when reporting.
