NJROTC Places In Multi-State Drill Meet

February 28, 2011

Northview High School’s NJROTC recently participated in a drill meet at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The unit competed in multiple events which included a personnel inspection, academic test, basic and exhibition drill and physical fitness. Out of 16 schools from Florida, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana that competed in the meet, Northview finished fifth overall. The unit was third in the personnel inspection, fifth in the armed exhibition drill and sit-ups and sixth in unarmed and armed basic drill.

“Performance by the unit was excellent and was the culmination of a lot of hard work over the past several weeks by each cadet that competed. They represented Northview and the community in an outstanding fashion,” said Capt. Charlie Code, instructor.

WOW…..If we’ve said it once we’ve said it 50 times, we couldn’t be prouder of Northview’s NJROTC Program, Instructors and Cadets. Ya’ll proved that Northview ’s NJROTC is a dedicated, enthusiasitic and hard working unit to be recognized. Ya’ll are an inspiration and asset to this community. Thank You!

William, thank you so very much for continuing to post our young peoples achievements and sucess. We are lucky to have northescambia.com in our little corner of Florida.

    To L.Stevens:
CONGRATULATIONS goes out to all of Pine Forest NJROTC Instructors & Cadets for thier awesome achievements at all the various meets so far this year.

And I totally agree that PNJ and WEAR-TV should be ashamed for not covering the outstanding accomplishments for all of the NJROTC programs in the Escambia County, Florida communities. It seems the would rather carry on about stories that are non-sense like baby ducks in the middle of the road or stories from other areas that aren’t even in Northwest Florida.
I know that the annual NJROTC cadet recognition awards for all the area School is just around the corner and that is never recognized by our area local news crews either. I hope this will change because it’s so refreshing to hear all the positive things are these young people are accomplishing instead of just hearing about all the bad things.

glad to see NorthEscambia posting these pics and stories! Pine Forest won 1st overall @ this meet and competed @ Auburn’s super meet this past weekend. Escambia and Pine Forest will represent our area @ the National Drill Competition in April and the PNJ hasn’t bothered to run a story, nor will they. If there were any other sports teams from 2 local schools who qualified for a NATIONAL event, it would be front page news! Keep up the good work, Northview and NorthEscambia!

Great job guys. It’s great to see young people like you doing positive things in life. I was on an Army drill team while on active duty and I know the dedication and precision it takes to get where you got. Congrats and keep up the great work.

Great looking bunch of kids. We are very proud of all – especially our grandson who is following in his grandfathers, his father and his uncles tradition. Keep your heads up high kids – you are earning your place in the world and deserve to be admired.
