Century’s Budget Looking Good

February 8, 2011

A little good news for the town of Century — the budget for the first quarter of the year is in good shape.

Robert Hudson, the town’s accountant, told the Century Town Council that they ended the quarter and calendar year with revenue just over budget and expenditures under budget.

“So we are on the plus side…we are doing real well,” Hudson said. “We took a very conservative approach.”

Something I’m concerned about is recently there was talk about the town having a “Gas leak”…many residents gas bills are much higher this much…some $100.00 ovr the previous month! Who Is paying for this leak? Why doesn’t the town prebuy the natural gas or propane, whichever it uses, during the summer so it’s at a much cheaper rate. Price is always higher to purchase it in the winter.
