An adult female in the house was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries she received while trying to rescue several pets from the home. A dog, several cats and a gerbil were reported to have died in the blaze. A cat rescued from the fire was severely injured.

I speak from experience too and unchainyourdog gave a lovely offer.

Some people just don’t get it!

I am so sorry that this famiy has lost their house AND their pets. My pets are cherished members of my family and I just cannot imagine having to go through this. Prayers are with the family and the cat and hopes for a speedy recovery:)

I know the family that lived in this house, and it is a terrible thing that has happened. I want the family to know that all of us will be behind you in your recovery.

so many thoughts but just going to stick to the important issue at that moment…. could someone that knows this family give us information on how to assist this family? clothes size, household goods, personal goods, and how to get it to them? Thanks so much!

By helping the cat unchainyourdog IS helping the family. Obviously the family cared for their pets or they wouldn’t have tried to save them. If it were me I would surely appreciate help for my pets.

Does anybody know how I could help the family with clothes or something. I need size of clothes or shoes or coats.

RE “”CandysVinceGill-NoMore” STOP while you’re ahead….you are not making sense at all. That nice person offered to help pay for medical attention for the injured cat. Very nice and considerate of them to do this.
You sound resentful, hateful, and jealous.
Let the person help this family help their pet, what is it to YOU?
I for one think the family would appreaciate any financial help for the cat to receive medical attention.

Its sad that someone would try to call out someone else who is trying to help. “unchain your dog” has commented many times on this site for various stories and has never been anything but thoughtful and considerate to others. He\she works with an organization thats works with animals from what I gather. I could be wrong but i believe he\she said that on a different post. So he reached out to help an animal because he\she is kind and wanted to help within his\her expertise and CVGNM wants to question why. Thats pathetic! ALL aspects of this family needs help and it takes all kinds of people to help. Even though you “applaud” him you also try to belittle what he has offered. I trully applaud you unchainyourdog. Im sure the family will appreciate ANY help you can offer to them or their extended family!

unchainyourdog, don’t you think by helping the family they would help the cat? i applauded you for wanting to help, i still do, of course the cat would get what ever care it needed if it is a loved member of the family, the family of the cat are the ones who will see to it’s care, the people involved do not have to be burned to be burned obviously nothing like this has ever happened to you, i happen to be speaking from experience, hopefully you will not ever have to!

@CandysVinceGill-NoMore ~ I didn’t reallize that anyone in the family was badly burned. By offering to help their cat, I just might be helping the family, too. That cat just might be a cherished member of the family. People can ask for help, animals can’t.

Diane, Your message to Candys was well spoken! What a generous and thoughtful offer of Unchainyourdog to help the injured cat. I will happily donate to these people who lost everything. My prayers go out to them.

CVGNM…..there was nothing wrong with unchainyourdog offering help for the injured cat. The people from this horrible tradegy will be helped I am sure by many but folks often forget about their furry friends that need help. WIth all the financial hardship they have ahead of them, I am sure they would more than welcome unchainyourdogs offer of assistance for their dear pet.

Thank God, no human lives were lost. My heart goes out to these people. My prayers are with you!

  15. CandysVinceGill-NoMore on January 12th, 2011 6:14 pm

unchainyourdog i think you wanting to help the cat is great, how come you did not offer to help the people, lets get real people, people need help too……do not come back at me asking who i helped, i help people all the time, i just don’t advertise it or look for recognition……

  16. Stephanie on January 12th, 2011 6:05 pm

I know these people and they are the sweetest people that you will ever meet. I am so sorry that this happened.

  17. Donna on January 12th, 2011 4:32 pm

God Bless them I am very sorry for there loss.

  18. unchainyourdog on January 12th, 2011 4:09 pm

I would like to contribute $ for the badly burned cat for treatment if she’s still alive. Does anyone know the status of the cat?

    Oh.. so sad :(
But thankfully no human lives lost.
