Squirrel Boy Begins Jail Sentence For Selling Pot To Undercover Informant
January 10, 2011
A Century man known by law enforcement by his street name “Squirrel Boy” reported to the Escambia County Jail Sunday to being a 180 day sentence for selling drugs to an undercover informant.
Eric Quincy Allen, 42, was found guilty last month on two counts of marijuana possession with the intent to sell by an Escambia County jury after he sold drugs from his front porch to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office informant.
He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and his driver’s license was revoked for two years by Judge Paul Rasmussen. He will also be required to perform 50 hours of community service and will be on probation for two years upon release, according to court records. Allen was given 30 days to report to jail to begin his sentence.
According to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Allen was sitting on his porch at his Salter’s Lake Road home when he sold marijuana to the informant in April, 2010.

It’s about time he went to jail, I know for a fact that he has been selling drugs for years, just because he is well liked doesn’t make drug dealing less of a crime. Darn good job undercovers and keep up the good work.
THANK YOU RAQUEL, YOU HAVE SAID A MOUTH FULL. HE WAS NOT GOING AND PUTTING THOSE DRUGS IN THAT PERSON MOUTH. WE NEED TO KNOW THE REAL SOURCE OF WHERE THE DRUGS ARE REALLY COMING FROM. IF THEY LOOK INTO IT, IT IS HALF OF OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WHO IS DEALING BUT THEY JUST DON’T GET CAUGHT. TRUST ME I KNOW. BUT GET MAD WHEN THE DRUG DEALERS DON’T SELL FOR THEM. AND THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SUPPOSE TO UPHOLD THE LAW. SO DON’T GET MAD WITH THE LITTLE DRUG DEALERS GET MAD WITH ALL OF THEM. THOSE YOU KNOW AND THOSE YOU DON’T KNOW. HIDING BEHIND THE SCENE.
why is it that ppl say “well there’s another drug dealer off the streets, or his drugs are destroying our kids” NEWSFLASH: MOST DRUG DEALERS DO GET OUT OF JAIL…ITS THEIR DECISION WHETHER THEY’RE GOING TO CHANGE AND BE A BETTER PERSON….AND ANOTHER THING: NO DRUG DEALER IS DESTROYING ANYONE’S CHILD…U RAISE UR CHILD THE WAY U WANT BUT IF THEY TURN TO DRUGS NO ONE WAS THREATENING THEM TO DO IT…EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN MIND AND A CONSCIOUS…
William. You say look closer but sweetie that was the second comment my first comment actually wasn’t posted so before you attempt to correct someone please know what your speaking on and as far as squirrel case is concerned you all was on this before he was found guilty and the incident in jay is never talked about but you keep covering this like he was selling meth. Omg. Get a life
Squirrel Boy wasn’t storing nuts for the winter. He was selling nuts.
Glad the right customer came to the store.
Enough of our children are destroyed with his product.
Enjoy your nesting place Squirrel Boy.
William,
Does the word “paranoid” ever come to mind?

Your previous comment *is* posted below. Look a little closer.
The “Squirrel Boy” story is posted because he was found guilty and convicted of felony charges. We covered his story like anyone else.
As for the shooting in Jay, there has not been any additional coverage of that case because it has not gone to trial yet. Murder cases take a lot longer to proceed through the courts, generally, that drug charges. Once there is a verdict or significant development in that case, we will cover it again.
I GUESS MY COMMENT WAS TO TRUE TO BE PREVIOUSLY POSTED BUT ALL I CAN SAY WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT THIS LIKE SQUIRREL BOY WAS THE KING PIN OF DRUGS THIS SUBJECT IS VERY MUCH OVER WITH… BUT SOME OF THE STUFF THAT MATTERS THEY WON’T EVEN TALK ABOUT LIKE THE INCIDENT THAT HAPPEN IN JAY…. I GUESS THIS WONT BE APPROVED TO GET POSTED EITHER BUT THATS FINE ALSO BUT THIS IS MY OPINION AND IF YOU DID NOT WANT IT YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A COMMENT SECTION
Law enforcement is the practice of increasing public safety… as moderated by threat, politics, and numbers.
Arresting buyers (charging dozens, maybe hundreds) and clogging up the courts with all those cases is not a productive use of finite manpower. Busting one supplier is much more likely to impact overall use… the higher up the line the greater the charge and the greater net effect in keeping drugs off the street.
We all make choices in life… we live with the choices we make. Hope this man can learn to make other choices.
I’m not saying any of this is right, but what i do think we should stop arresting the seller and arrest the buyer. A seller can’t sell if he or she doesn’t have a buyer right? The ones that sells the drugs does not have a gun or knife held on the buyer to make them buy it. If the law inforces to everyone that gets caught buying you will receive maxium punishment to the fullest. Maybe this may cut down on the drugs in the street. People would be scared to buy. Now the seller business is out of business like every other business that can’t make its because no customers to sell to. Think about it.
im with whoever cream puff is yeah why keep messin with the same drug its a waist of time
When you say informant, what you actually mean is man you arrested yesterday with probably more in his pocket than this guy. What have you honestly gained here. You let one go so he could set up his rival dealer and just inhance his buisness. Probably should have offered the same generous offerings to squirrel boy and see how many we could leave out on the streets
I love me some squrrel
Why is this still being talked about gosh people act like he killed someone you keep updating and advertising this like he’s Obama okay he’s gone serve 6months wow!!!! But the black boy that got killed in jay there is NO updates on that. Uhmmm isn’t that something
Several years ago I worked with this man at a business in Century, He was always nice, well mannered and well dressed, But breaking the law is just that- breaking the law.
Our sheriff dept. is doing its job. Hats off to them, maybe they can get the little crap out of the way so they have time to concentrate on worse issues.
“Buster” they call him that because he would bury his weed out in the yard until he was ready to sell it. its funny that the law calls him a nickname that was given to him by people on the street.
I am glad that there is another drug dealer off of the street and i am alson glad that he done the honorable thing and turned himseld in like he daid he would. Everytime i ever met him working for the public he was a very nice man. I really hope the best for him. I hope he does his time and comes out a new man. Maybe while in there he will have time to think and God will get a hold of his heart and change his life. The sad thing is people who are doing worde crimes than this is out walking around. Lets crack down on them. Good luck to you Squirrel Boy and may God be with you and Bless you.
entrapment?
How do you entrap someone who isn’t doing anything? The drug is illegal.
Obviously he was doing enough to be charged.
Don’t get me wrong. I think anything to do with THIS drug is B.S.
Why waste time with a drug that no one has been violent on when
we have more meth labs and violent crime in town than we have officers of the law.
I keep thinking on this little thing somebody just wanted to get him, possibly
even law enforcement.
It’s kind like when you get a divorce. It wasn’t just the last straw that broke
the camels back, it was years of it.
When you do something illegal though you should always know that you
can GO DOWN.
It is not like this guy was standing on a street corner or out pushing drugs. A snitch who wanted a lighter sentence for there wrong doings , went to this mans house and asked for the weed. Not saying this is right, but doesnt this sound a little like intrapment? How much pot was he charged with ? Was it a bag of weed or was it 2 metric tons of the stuff ?
Okay, so why do they call him Squirrel Boy? Why put it in the article if you’re not going to explain it? Does he scamper up trees when being chased? Hide his drugs like acorns? Have a long bushy tail?
Enquiring want to know.
im not saying what he did was right but Eric is a nice guy. i hope this time in jail will help him get everything together when he gets out. I met Eric while i worked in a public place in Century and he was all ways very polite when he didn’ t have to be.
At least he”s a man of his word. The last time we were informed a criminal was going to turn himself in, the Sheriffs office had to go find him.
