Masland Carpets’ Dixie Group Sales Up 24 Percent

The owner of Masland Carpets, Dixie Group, said that the company’s fourth quarter sales were up 24 percent, boosting overall sales for the Tennessee company to more than $65 million during the last quarter of 2010.
The company, which employees 360 people in Atmore and 165 in Saraland estimates that total sales for the year would be up 14 percent to $232 million. Dixie also said it expects to make an operating profit during the fourth quarter, an “encouraging” market trend.

which is one of the dangers of any form of governmental involvement in private industry other than enforcement of contracts and safety. The things they do to encourage one business may shut down another business or even that very one.

One other thing how you make money when you make things two and three times, trying to get it right? Poor Management! Beware of the headlines…..knowing them layoff’s are right around the corner. They get incentives to hire folks, then lay them off……
Sales are so good! No raise in the last 5 years though for the people who are getting the materials in to the plant!! All they are getting is more and more workload, advise find a new job! No future there unless you are in the buddy system.
