Escambia Teen Dies As A Result Of A December Crash
January 18, 2011
An Escambia County teenager passed away Monday night as the result of injuries he received in a December 30 crash on Pine Forest Road.
Matthew Kyle Johnson, 17, was pronounced deceased about 7 p.m. Monday. He was the driver of a motorcycle that was hit by a car making a u-turn.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Sean A. Blackmon, 22, was southbound on Pine Forest Road at Longleaf Drive when he attempted to make an improper U-turn. He was unable to complete the U-turn and backed into the path of Johnson’s northbound Honda Shadow. Johnson was pinned under Blackmon’s Ford Taurus following the crash.
Johnson’s passenger, David Michael Estes, 19, was seriously injured in the crash.
Charges against Blackmon are pending, according to the FHP.

Matt it’s been almost three years now. You were truly taken from is to soon. I personally did not know you. But you were friends with my brother, and apart of our NJROTC family. Still today you are missed by everyone. The instructors included. In fact today Mastergunnery sergeant showed a picture of you fixing Sealey when he was a freshman, at a drill meet. I really hope you’re enjoying yourself up in heaven. Rest in peace Matt<3

So sorry for your loss. Many years ago a motorcycle accident took the life of a loved one. But, it was my loved one’s fault – speed, drugs, and alcohol. But, you never get “over”it. My thougts and prayers are with the families of all involved.
soo sad. prayers go out
Dave somethings are better off left unsaid. My heartfelt sympathy go out to his family.
Pentalty for killing someone in a crash where no criminal charges are filed- $1000.00 fine and loss of license for one year. Pentality needs to be increased for taking a human life.
This Is Terrible…. my Prays go out to the family and hopes that u will heal in time
I can not imagine their heartache. Prayers for the family.
To Angie, family & friends,
May you find comfort in the Lord and may feel His loving arms around each of you at this time. God is there to give you strength to take one step at a time. Lean on Him and The earthly Angels He puts in your path. Allow them to love you thru this-one minute at a time, one hour at a time, and somedays one day at a time. With God you are not alone.
Love in Christ,
