Drug Charges Dropped Against Century Woman

January 12, 2011

Charges have been dropped against a Century woman arrested after a search warrant was executed at her mobile home last June.

Cocaine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia charges were dropped against Karen Louise Quinley due to insufficient evidence, according to Escambia County Circuit Court records.

On June 9, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Quinley’s home on West Highway 4 near the Century Care Center. No one was home at the time the warrant was executed. According to an arrest report, deputes found a stem of marijuana in a bedroom, crack cocaine on the kitchen table, a razor blade with cocaine residue, a marijuana cigarette and digital scales during their search.

They probably dropped it because she wasn’t there so there was no way to prove that it was hers since she was not actually in possession of it when they found it.

A stem,a dirty razor blade, one marijuana cigarette and some crack which must not have been enough to measure or they would have stated how much was found. The total (including the weight of the razor blade) was probably less than 1/8 ounce of drugs.

Yep,got us a big dealer, a major supplier and piles of evidence.

    Somebody get a rope!!

Maybe, just maybe, some people will realize that a judge can’t drop the charges, that would be the D.A.!!!

THAT IS THE WORST STATE OF AFFAIRS I HAVE EVER HEARD.
There is absolutely no justification for this in my mind. I don’t want to hear it.
Take them ALL down. Every dealer, which this person certainly was or why
would she have had scales? Every Buyer, Every Maker of Meth.
Send them ALL to prison. Most of them were old enough to have heard
of what drugs do to them and their entire family and town .

GET TOUGH ON CRIME AND DRUGS ARE A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR.

LEO risk their lives every day. They arrest criminals only to have them released or slapped on the wrist. No wonder some Officers have a bad attitude. They wind up having to arrest the same people over and over again only to have the bleeding heart liberal Judges toss the criminals back on the street.

can someone please explain how they drop charges due to insufficient evidence when they found all of this evidence? what in the world is wrong with our justice system? i have a feeling it has something to do with lack of funding. we certainly dont have funding for rehab for this poor woman and now it looks like we cant afford to lock her up. these drug laws are ridiculous to begin with (imho) and it looks as though our new governor wants to streamline the prisons. makes sense to me to stop wasting time going after the teensy weensy fish and go after the big bad criminals. we no longer have the time or resources.

Sounds to me like someone rolled over. That much evidence in the home and charges dropped when will officials wake up that is not helping society or anyone else this happens way to often and they usually repeat their habit or way of life till the next time they get caught. But stop and think of how many lives dealers ruin in the mean time. I say get them some help to stop this cycle and go after the others that might seem harder to get without their help. I feel that would do justice for everyone. Just saying. I possibly could be wrong about the whole thing. Not saying my opinion is correct. I have seen it happen this away too many times. And the ones willing to roll on the next keeps on doing their destruction. Just seems wrong to me
