Alexander Holder, Jr.

Alexander Holder Jr., 79, of Pensacola, FL passed away on January 1, 2011 at the Specialty Center of Pensacola. He was born October 10, 1931 in Peterman, AL to Alex and Ida Simpson Holder. Alex graduated from Atmore High School and from Auburn University. He served in the Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Brenda Holder, son Jeff Holder, brother John Holder, and sister Nell Holder.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Martha Boone Holder; daughter Terry Kropp (Eric), son Mark Holder (Stephanie), daughter-in-law Laura Holder, 8 grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters; sisters Vera Lindauer (Charles), Helen McKenzie (William), brother Jim Holder (Lois), and their families.

Alex was a devoted member of Innerarity Point Baptist Church in Pensacola.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Pkwy. Funeral service will be at Faith Chapel South on Wednesday, January 5 at 1:00 PM, with Reverend Tim Coleman officiating.

His wife and family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Specialty Center of Pensacola and the nurses and staff at the Veranda of Pensacola for the undying devotion and care that was given to him every day!
