Three Escambia Drive-by Shooting Suspects Arrested

December 16, 2010

Three people are in jail today after an early morning shooting in Escambia County left one man injured.

At around 12:09 a.m., deputies responded to the 1300 block of North T Street for a reported shooting victim. It was there that deputies found a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim, identified as Timothy Jerome Curry, 41, of Pensacola, told deputies that he was shot by the occupants of a black truck, with dark tinted windows. Curry said the truck fled the scene after he was shot.

Medics transported Curry to Baptist Hospital to be treated for his injury.

At around 12:17 a.m., while deputies were still busy investigating the shooting, they were notified of a vehicle crash involving a black truck with dark tinted windows, according to Chris Welborn. public information officer for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.  It was reported that the vehicle had crashed into a power pole in the 4000 block of Palafox Street.

When deputies arrived at this scene of the crash, they discovered three handguns in an unoccupied black 2001 Ford F150 truck. One of the guns was reported stolen in a vehicle burglary earlier this year. The truck was later determined to be a stolen vehicle.

Patrol deputies, believing this was the truck used in the shooting on T Street, began to search the area for suspects. All of the suspects were apprehended shortly after the search began.

Arrested were Quamain Tyjuan Williams, 18, of Pensacola, Brandon Lashawn Holliman, 19, of Pensacola and Candace Sabe Abrams, 24, of Pensacola. All three were charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. They were booked in the Escambia County Jail and held on a $25,000.00 bond. This investigation is on-going and more charges may be forthcoming.

During this investigation deputies recovered the stolen vehicle, a stolen handgun and seized the other two handguns.

    REGARDING:
“why is there a bond if you shoot someone?”

Because it has not been established you DID shoot someone. You are ACCUSED of shooting someone. It is possible you didn’t do it. As such, you have the freedom to prove your innocence (if possible) and that is hard to do from jail.

For that matter, it is possible you DID shoot someone but did so in self-defense. In that case, you should also not be put in jail for protecting yourself.

These look like fine, upstanding citizens, so maybe they are innocent.

Take away the TV, CIGS., and all the fun in the prisons, put their behinds on a chain gang, and see the crime rate drop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think when I get so old I can not take care of myself and can’t afford a nursing home I will just commit a crime and go to prison and let someone else worry about it.

If prisons were more like they used to be, sentences could be shorter and ergo, less perps in prison at any given time, ergo, less crowding ’cause they would hate prison life so much, they would not do a thing to go back.

Prisoners have it too easy —- they can be lazy, not work, have a roof over their heads, full bellies, a social life, clean linens, and above all, drugs. Why would thugs want to go straight??

Bring back the good ole days when they had to wash hospitals’ laundry, make tags, work in a moter pool, etc., instead of looking up porn on computers bought by us.

They want to be in a gang?? Put them in a chain gang.

As i am not taking up for these idiots, I don’t want to jump to any conclusions as far as blaming their parents..In some cases, yes the parents are to blame but not all.
All the judicial system is going to do it slap them on the hand and tell them that was a no no and they will walk and do it all over again..
We need tougher penalties against crimes..Jail or even Prison does not seem to do the trick..People without a coinscience do not care. They do not care!
Send their butts over seas and let them fight the war since they like to play with guns so much. There is not a word to describe idiots these days. It’s an insult to an idiot!

Why was their bond set so low initially? I understand the comment that more charges are forthcoming, but surely even a liberal judge would understand that that was an idiotic bond and a lack of charges given the PC…

And, these people actually walk among us. How stupid can you be? In this case very stupid! They will have a plenty of time now to think about it. Three Amigo’s huh.
