Douglas Indicted In Death Of Woman Found In Woods

A grand jury has indicted a Pensacola man for the brutal rape and murder of a woman whose body was found in wooded area off Nine Mile Road.
Joshua Wayne Douglas, 22 , was indicted Wednesday for first degree murder and sexual battery with a deadly weapon or force likely to cause serious personal injury for the death of Jamie Broxson, 25.
According to the state attorney’s office, Douglas was interview by investigators on December 7, at which time he admitted to placing duct tape on Broxson and having sexual contact with her.
Broxson and Debra Jones, 19, were found dead in a wooded area off Nine Mile road on November 29. Broxson has not been charged with Jones’ death.
Both bodies were found near a Gulf Power substation on Jernigan Road, just south of Nine Mile Road. Douglas’ home address, according to jail records, is directly across from the power substation.
Douglas is being held in the Escambia County Jail without bond.

I knew Debra Jones, I used to hate her for jealous reasons, Now i find myself crying, I wish I could have gotten to know her better, I heard she was a very nice and caring person.
She will be missed by many.

He does have some evil eyes – y’all are right. You know what they say – the eyes are the windows to the soul.
If he thinks looking mean will keep him safe in prison, he’s got another think coming.
There were no signs and I know lots of people who are protesting and saying it isn’t so. Josh has a lot of supportive family and friends who just do not believe it is true. Something happened, something must of snapped. I’m not saying he is innocent by any means because honestly I don’t know but I will tell you that josh was one of the nicest guys I have ever hung out with. I believe it may of been drugs or a mental problem that did not show itself till now. I pray for him and the girls’ families. I also pray that the justice system works.
He is a pure monster, how could anyone not know he is evil. There must have been signs that he was not right. Even if it was just a small one. Remember Ted Bundy was known as a nice guy no one would ever suspect. But after he was caught everyone who knew started to remember the little things that seemed odd about him. This guy was no nice guy just a good actor who was able to fool a lot of naive people……

You know the sad thing is I haven’t been able get this off my mind ever since I read about the murders of these young women with their whole life ahead of them.

It seems as though a serial killer has been taken off the streets. I feel bad for the families of the two young girls, but I also hope there are no other victims still out there buried somewhere else….
