The real problem was not the ladybug, it was cute and the definitely different. It was the poor crowd control and the ruthless adults. Our float walkers had trouble passing at certain points because the crowd would not move. We had people snatching stuff out of our bags. Some people didnt watching their kids and the kids would walk up to the floats. We were even cursed at. The parade is for the children, period. I am hopeful to participate again next year…… Maybe.

the lady bug was out of control with its driver. You couldn’t even see thats why you had walkers but you almost ran over one of them several times as I could see in front of the movie place. It was cute but I think it was a careless driver that scared several children where I was standing. Wait till next year…Hope they get a different driver. Old Fireman….You give your identity away.

As to the comment from the person on the “Lady Bug Float” …At no time was the Lady Bug ever out of control. It deliberately came up to the crowd as a personal treat for the children. AT no time did anyone have to put hands on it and push it for any reason at all. I do hope that it was enjoyed by all.
It was all meant for good fun. I am a very safe and experienced operator and would never put anyone in harms way. We also had spotters walking on both sides of the Lady Bug!
If you think the Lady Bug was cute…wait til next year.

    >>Where are the twirlers? I heard they did a great job. Why not in the video?

We had a problem with the video camera during the Atmore parade that prevented a few of the groups from being included in the video.

We were in front of Gulf Winds and the lady bug float got a little out of hand. At one point, we thought it was going to go into the crowd. It was only inches away before it stopped and they had to push it back the way it was supposed to be going.
Other than that, we really enjoyed the parade. Everybody had a good time and it was good clean fun.

Love the Lady Bug float. Student from Flomaton Band had great idea with those flashy lights glasses. And I bet that lady ride float is still talking on her cell phone. HA HA ~ Great Parade. Merry Christmas.
