Agadine (Deanie) Morris Floyd Gainey

December 14, 2010

Agadine (Deanie) Morris Floyd Gainey was born June 9, 1929, in a small farm house in Jayto Rhoda and Ella Morris. She was the sixth child of 13 brothers and sisters. She went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, December 13, 2010, and will be celebrating Jesus Christ’s birthday right by his side.

She is preceded in death by her father, Rhoda and mother, Ella; brothers, Doc, Odis, Hubert, J.B. and Edward; sisters, Eva Cannon and Judy Ball.

She leaves behind one daughter, Louventras (Lou) Barody and loving son-in-law, Gary Barody; three grandsons, James Allen, wife Kynly, Jason Barody, wife Rachel, and Adam Barody, wife Danielle; five great-grandchildren, Britian and Samuel Allen; Brenden, Alex, and Tamara Barody; two brothers, Quenton Morris, wife Kathy, Billy Morris, wife Edna, and one sister, Lillie Elrod; along with many nieces and nephews.

Agadine moved to Pensacola at age 16 where she worked for American Laundry. She later went to work at Chemstrand (Monsanto) and worked there 22 years before retiring. She bought Fran’s Laundry on West Jackson Street in 1975 and customers quickly named her “Fran” as Agadine was hard to remember. “Fran” owned and managed her business with service and a smile for the next twenty years. Unwilling to sit at home following her second retirement, she became an at home sitter for the elderly until poor health caused her to slow down at the age of 78.

She wants us to celebrate and be joyful that she is in the arms of GOD. She prayed to go HOME and to have a family reunion with all her loved ones. She is smiling down on us with greater Joy than anyone can imagine as she walks the streets of gold. She would say, “Do not be sad for we will all be together again soon.”

She wanted to give a special thank you to all her church family for their prayers, cards, and calls.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 16 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South.

Funeral Services will be Friday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Julian Walker. Burial will follow at Cora Baptist Church Cemetery in Jay, FL.
