According to our local television station’s news report the man was working on the tractor. So, he may or may not have been driving it?
I think most of us with the older “high boy” tractors have had this about happen. It sure will scare you. Very sorry for the family.
OUR PRAYERS TO THE FAMILY – Does anyone know the family name? … No disrepect to the family intended as i share this story… Once my brothers (4 – I think) were driving on Morris town rd, in Jay. When someone came flying over the hill on their side of the road and All they could do was hit the ditch with a high embankment and you can guess that they rolled the tractor. It was a Miracle and a praying Mama that they survived. One brother riding sitting strattle the front if my memory is correct wound up between the gear shifts and steering wheel under the tractor. Of course with 6 boys, I guess you would have a praying mama? There was one on the hood, one on each side of the driver, BOY! Have times changed. I do not remember why I was not with them. Because, I was usually with them, going fishing or to the nearest swimming hole. But they were actually coming from the field pulling weeds that day, I think. Could be why I was not with them ) That was not the only time those Hudson boys flipped a Vehicle…
Prayers.
Once my father was trying to pull a stump out with his tractor and it almost turned over on him. I was about 6 years old and watching him. The front of the tractor reared straight up and I could tell it scared him – It about scared me to death. I’ll never forget that sight.
My prayers are with the family.
