Atmore Man Arrested After Pensacola Carjacking, Police Chase

November 12, 2010

An Atmore man was apprehended after an early morning carjacking and police chase in Pensacola.

Casey Monta Coleman, 20, of Patterson Street, Atmore, is charged with robbery, resisting arrest without violence, and numerous traffic offenses including fleeing and alluding after the incident that began at 1 a.m. Friday.

Escambia County deputies responded to the Kangaroo convenience store at 4126 Mobile Highway after a 911 call from Lisa Barber, 39, of Orlando. She reported that her 1996 Isuzu Trooper had been forcibly taken.

Barber told deputies that she had parked her car at the Western Inn, located across the street from the convenience store, when she was approached by the suspect later identified as Coleman. She stated that Coleman pulled her from the vehicle and threw her to the ground. Barber then witnessed Coleman enter her vehicle and leave, driving east on Mobile Highway, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 2:20 a.m. a deputy found the stolen vehicle near the intersection of La Salle Way and Montclair Road and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Coleman refused to stop and deputies pursued the vehicle to the 1000 block of Mills Avenue where Coleman jumped out and began to flee on foot. Deputies and a Sheriff’s K-9 later located Coleman hiding under a boat at 1036 Mills Avenue where he was apprehended.

Nicole, you are right, only God holds our future, so since we are going to go ahead and bring God into this. Commandment No. 8…. THOU SHALL NOT STEAL. Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. Gods will is for us to do right, and although He holds the future, HIS plan for us is for us to prosper, to be loving and kind. I believe he have plans for us and we we do or go outside the will of God, by doing wrong then we have altered what he have planned for us. I hate the see Hammer or any person for that matter, locked up, but we all have to be wise in out decision making. I pray that it is never me or my family, I would be sadden, but If I go do something stupid like pull someone from THEIR automobile, push THEM on the ground, about THEIR automobile, then them, taking the automobile, that by the way I have not made a payment on, since it is not mine. Then the public should be able to see me in the newspaper, on the internet, on T.V. so that the taxpayers, will know that I am a danger, so be it. He could have been killed and he could have ran over the poor person that the Trooper belong, so count your blessings, because we all could be counting a lose. HOMEWORK: read the THE FIRST AMENDMENT

No Tracy Coleman (twin) the people on this site making comments are not the lame ones. It is the “Hammers” of the world that are lame, get a job and take care of yourselves, and LEAVE OTHER PEOPLE AND THEIR PROPERTY ALONE. The world don’t owe you all a thing.

  12. Horrific! on November 12th, 2010 1:35 pm

    WOW
I’m glad they got him….now lets hope they keep him.
Which of course I doubt since it seems they never do….

ThRew her to the ground and took her car.
It should be like it was in the old days when they hung you for stealing a horse.

If you lose your car, you wouldn’t be able to go to work. Most ppl don’t live
anywhere near where they work. You couldn’t go to the store and buy groceries
for your family even if you still had money. You couldn’t take your children to
the doctors if they were sick.

I WOULD SAY THEY RUINED YOUR LIFE AND THE LIFE OF YOUR CHILDREN….

i THINK YOU SHOULD RUIN THEIRS.

    JUST MY OPINION…,…
