8th Grader Headed To State Cross Country Meet

Micah Kemp representing Jay High School placed 12th overall in the regional cross country meet in Gainesville with a time of 18:02. The top 15 runners advanced to the state competition. The eighth grader, who runs at the high school level, will complete this Saturday at Dade City Everglades Ranch. This will be Kemp’s second trip to the state competition. gosh, Im a cross country runner(girls), and we practice with the boys, and man he motivated all of us to keep going and never to quit, he is a great kid, he is going far.

Keep your eyes on this kid! Running in the 18s in 8th grade will turn into college capable times come about 4 years (speaking from experience)! Keep up the good work!
