Traffic Watch: Problems Getting To Ernest Ward Middle Today
October 1, 2010
Traffic is being delayed by road construction on Highway 97 today at Ernest Ward Middle School.
Drivers should allow about 15 minutes extra time. Or, drivers headed to the school should approach from Highway 99A off North Highway 99 (coming from behind the gym) to avoid delays.

they first came thru leveling the bad spots, fixing the bridges, and replacing guardrails. no they are putting the top layer on. i hate the delays but it now that its a smooth road i can drive 120mph to work with all the other jerks out there.
me…wondering if David Huie Green does anything besides post on Northescambia…
have you noticed all the bumps in the newly resurfaced hwy 97 near piggly wiggly in davisville. this shows the wonderful job they are taking so long to do.
Here is a suggestion, night work like they do in many areas. I have a job that has me going up and down 97. I am late all the time. it is crazy! Instead of 9 workers standing around holding a shovel and 10 sitting in the grass talking, maybe they could all work at once. That way I could work!
REGARDING:
“Why are they resurfacing the same road they just finished resurfacing?”
I don’t think they had actually finished. After all, resurfacing often involves multiple layers. Could be they just did enough to get by for a while.
No…a better question is this…why on earth did they stop the road work for BEACH traffic during the summer only to start working on the roads again the same day school started back.
SCHOOL traffice is way more important than beach traffic. We got some fine idiots making those decisions!!!
Why are they resurfacing the same road they just finished resurfacing?
