North Escambia Area Officially In Drought
October 10, 2010
The North Escambia area is now officially in a drought, with no significant rainfall in weeks.
The U.S. Drought Monitor map published this week shows northern Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in Florida and Escambia County in Alabama as being in a moderate drought, while some nearby areas as portions of Okaloosa and Walton counties in Florida, and Covington, Baldwin and Mobile counties in Alabama in a severe drought.
As the soil continues to parch under the October sun, forecasters are calling for more abnormally warm temperatures and almost no chance of rain during the next week.
The U.S. Drought Monitor is published by the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln using a variety of climatic data.

HOPE EVERYONE GOT SOME RAIN TODAY….POURED IN PENSACOLA
I agree and this change of weather is killing my ashma….
I sure feel for the farmers tho and I know some of the menonite farmers and
call them friends so will be sending prayers for all.
Please, pray for rain. Farmers can’t get crops out of the field and we can’t breathe for the dust where they are able to work.
