Major Traffic Delays To Resume Monday On Highway 97
October 17, 2010
Look for major traffic delays to resume Monday morning on Highway 97.
Crews from Panhandle Grading & Paving will resume laying the top asphalt layer (called a “friction course”) on Highway 97. Motorists can expect intermittent lane restrictions from the intersection of Highway 29 and Highway 97 north to the Alabama state line.
In about a week, crews will pave the southern end of Highway 97 at Highway 29, causing traffic problems in the intersection. Law enforcement will be on site during the operations in the intersection to help things move as smoothly as possible, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

why has been repaved a couple of times?
Hopefully the states inspectors will catch the section from the state line down past Greenland. Seems that a lot of us have seen it.
I agree with Concerned “They need to come back and pave the southbound section of highway from the Alabama line to just past Greenland Road.”
It is like a dirt road, feels like an old washboard.
The new road is wonderful!

When is Sunshine HIll going to get repaved? I moved out here in 1992 it was red mud road then after a few yrs it got paved. NOW..there are “pot holes” everywhere…not good for cars..it causes damages to bottom of them.
OMG!!! This madness has to stop!
