Funeral Services Set For Teen Killed By SUV

October 17, 2010

Funeral services have been set for Shawn Youngstrom, the 15-year Tate High student that died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Youngstrom, 15 was walking in the dark in the turn lane from Nine Mile Road to Allegheny Avenue near Beulah when he was struck by a SUV driven by Jeremy Gravette, 33, of Pensacola about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Youngstrom was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital where he later died. Gravette and a six year old passenger in his vehicle were not injured.

Funeral services for Shawn Youngstrom will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 23 at the Pine Forest Assembly of God at 3125 North Pine Forest Road in Cantonment. Visitation will be held Friday, October 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

The church is also collecting funds to assist the family with expenses. Checks should be made out to the Pine Forest Assembly of God, noting “Shawn Youngstrom Fund” in the check’s memo field.
