Skippy was my cousin. I miss him dearly. Although we had not spoken to each other in years. I wish I had kept in touch with him. R I P Skippy.
I AM SO SORRY 2 HEAR ABOUT THE PASSING OF MR. SKIPPY…. I WILL KEEP THE FAMILY IN MY THOUGHTS N PRAYERS!!! ♥
Like Tony Powell, my older brothers and sisters also went to school with Johnny, Skippy and Mickey and my mother was best of friends with their mother, Mary Beth White and at times helped her keep up her house work in Pollard. They did for a fact have good musical talent. They had a record that Mrs White gave us a copy of. I still remember the name of the song “Goodbye Summer Love”.and and the lyrics. My heart bleeds for all his friends and family. But I feel like heaven has gained an asset!
I was so sorry to hear about Skippy. My heart goes out to the family. I loved it when my family lived in Polard and Johnny, Mickey and Skippy would come over and make music and sing. That is some of my fondest memories of my YOUTH.
GREAT MAN MR. SKIPPY WAS AND HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND ALWAYS KNOW THAT HE HOLDS A SPECIAL PLACE IN ALL OUR HEARTS.
Thoughts and prayers to the White family.
Hate to read it, liked him.
My brothers and sister and I were fortunate to have grown up with Skippy. My brothers played ball with Skippy at Flomaton H.S. Skippy and his brothers, Mickey and Johnny, were some of the most talented people I’ve ever known. They were blessed with so much musical talent. I remember fondly watching them sing and play when I was a boy.
The White family is revered in Escambia County and rightfully so. One could never know a better family.
Skippy was a kind-hearted soul who always had time for everyone. My life was enriched because I knew him and his family. And for that I am grateful.
My thoughts and prayers are extended to his family.
We will miss you and love you Uncle Skippy. Love you Hugh, Sarah Ann and Aunt Clarie.
RIP Mr Skippy. We are all so blessed to have know such a great man.
Many prayers for comfort are going up for The White Family.
Blessings, Eric, Leslie & Blake Johnson
The White Family is in my prayers! I love you!!!
Unfortunately Skippy White will only be memorialized on highway projects that bear his name along US 31 (bridges) between Flomaton and Brewton. He did much more for his community and should receive recognition for his many other efforts that brought betterment to the residents of Southwest Alabama.
Our prayers go out to Skippy’s family tonight.
