143-Lot Subdivision Gets Final Approval

October 13, 2010

Final plans for a new 143-lot single family home subdivision in Cantonment have been approved by Escambia County. Saverna Park will be located off of Well Line Road, just west of the Cantonment Ballpark. The commission approved four street names for the subdivision: Jacobs Way, Jesse Drive, Hesed Court and Perdido Road.

The preliminary plans for Saverna Park were approved in August, 2005, with construction plans approved on December 16, 2006.

Yeah, people moving in right next to the ball park, after the first season the new residents will be demanding that the ball park be closed because of the noise and lights. Just like they had lived there for a hundred years.

Perdido Rd is already there. This back of the subdivision hooks into the existing Perdido Rd that ends at the Santa Maria Plaza park. We have a lot of Spanish names all around the park (including Santa Rosa Rd) but the area people don’t seem too confused.
    :)
It is already all paved out with street signs and all the utilities stubbed in so this is just the final formality.

There is already a Perdido Lake Rd right behind there so I am sure folks can figure that out.

    I suspect government involvement.

Is this new subdivision within the ‘blighted’ area? Will any of the services (like the sewer lines) qualify for the tax payer funded benefits of the special tax?

Who are the principals in this one? What are their ties to the GOB network?

Perdido Road? In Cantonment? Yeah, that’s going to cause confusion! Surely you guys could have came up with something better than that!

More houses when they can’t sell the ones they got. Hope this works and just not another street to nowhere
