It sounds to me like most of the people who have made this list are crooks which would qualify them for public office you know or a job with Escambia County gotta remember the good ole boy system here still alive and well as it will always be. I assume there is a clause in the job description that requires you to be a crook but be in church on Sunday gotta keep fooling the people.

RE:”Also, he recently failed to retain his appointment by Charlie Crist to the Florida PSC when the Florida Legislature chose not to confirm him for a Public Service Commissioner position.”

Yep, after he voted against a rate increase….seems our political representation in Tallahassee didn’t want to make the hard decisions that might get them voted out of office…. I guess looking out for the public isn’t what the PSC is about.

RE:”ANSWER: Needs a job and obviously plugged in to the political power networks to make short list, having no level of experience comparable to others on the list.”

And someone from New Jersey, Minnesota, or Arizona knows what’s best for Escambia County? They ain’t from around here…Just sayin’…. :)

I thought Steve Stevens was Billy Idol’s guitar player. I know he’s a good guitarist but I don’t know how he’d work out as County Administrator. What happened to the long term County employee that was the Interim ?

Has anyone googled Melinda Carlton? I did. Perhaps the commissioners and/or their selection committee need to learn how to use search engines.

RE: “Wasn’t Steve Stevens fianance director at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office where one of his employees stole over $1.3 million dollars?!!!”
ANSWER: Yes; apparently was swept out from that job as part of the voter boot of his former boss, Sheriff McNesby. Also, he recently failed to retain his appointment by Charlie Crist to the Florida PSC when the Florida Legislature chose not to confirm him for a Public Service Commissioner position.

RE: “How does someone like this make the “list.””
ANSWER: Needs a job and obviously plugged in to the political power networks to make short list, having no level of experience comparable to others on the list.
