Investigation Continuing Into North Santa Rosa Double Homicide

September 26, 2010

The investigation is continuing into a double murder this week in north Santa Rosa County.

According to Sgt. Scott Haines, Public Information Officers for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is continuing around the clock into the deaths of Robert Hamm and Tracie Tolbert. Thecouple was discovered shot to death Wednesday on Jesse Allen Road in Allentown.

There are 15 investigators and three crime scene technicians assigned to the case, and progress is being made. But Haines said no new information can be released at this time.

“Preliminary autopsy results indicate that both victims in the double murder on Jesse Allen Road died from gunshot wounds,” according to Haines. He declined to release further details concerning autopsies conducted on the victims.

A resident of Jesse Allen Road called authorities just after 4:30 to report what looked like a large amount of blood in Jesse Allen Road. When deputies arrived, deputies found the two bodies on opposite sides of the  roadway.

Jesse Allen Road runs west off Highway 87, about 18 miles south of Jay and not far from Central High School.

Anyone with information about the murders of Hamm, 41, and Tolbert, 43, is asked to contact the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 983-1100, or Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP or online at www.srccs.com. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered through Crime Stoppers.
