Ya’ll call the Community Action Program and ask if your areas are included in this announcement. This is a nationwide program that was part of the stimulus bill. It appears that the county is implementing the program in phases by working with certain areas then moving on the the next. They can at least tell you when your area will be served or put you on a mailing list or something.

    number in household monthly income

    1 $1,805.00
    2 2,428.33
    3 3, 051.67
    4 3,675.00

Take drivers license, SS card, proof of ownership, proof of income, utility bill
If you rent they will give you paperwork for your landlord.

Now, we need to make sure that the Public Service Commission doesn’t give the power companies permission to raise rates, and they will ask for in increase because when this program is implemented statewide people will be using less power and gas.

This is one of the smartest programs in the Stimulus Bill. It helps consumers save money by reducing their use of power and gas, it saves consumers money by reducing demand thereby delaying building of new power plants and expanded natural gas wells because those costs are always put upon the customers. It also helps manufacturers and sellers of heat pumps and refrigerators and water heaters and insulation because of increased sales, and it helps the installers of these appliances and products by increasing their business. YAY!
