In Depth: Area School Grades
August 9, 2010
Bratt Elementary, Byrneville Elementary and Jim Allen Elementary all fell from A-rated schools. Molino Park Elementary remained at a B. Ernest Ward Middle and Ransom Middle each remained at an A-rating for the fifth consecutive year.
In Escambia County, there were 23 schools that had declining scores, with 18 remaining the same.

The school letter grades include a point system. The point total for every North Escambia area school declined, even for those schools that did not drop a letter grade. The total points for each area school are shown below.

Way to go Mr Thomas, this is what Southern Escambia Co wanted!!!!!!!
You cannot take an F school and put it with an A school and expect anything different. That is not 100% the fault of the kids at Century /Carver, Maybe teachers( and I’m not saying all) need to go back to school. I think the lack of interest in these schools by the school board has EVERYTHING to do with these A schools receiving lower grades. But hey I think the FCAT is a crock anyway!
I’m still proud of Byrneville students new and old, they will get these grades back up.
mrs ellis is one of the reasons EWMS is an A school! we love her! thanks to her and everyone else there at EWMS for taking care of the kids
Amen wtg!!!!!
It’s pretty hard to finish a race when they keep moving the finish line.
You would expect Bratt Elementary to drop due to combining Century Elementary students; that is exactly what the School Board wanted.
